Overview

Dirah ("the App") is a community cat sighting app. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data.

Data We Collect

Location: Used only when you submit a sighting to record its GPS coordinates. We do not track your location in the background.
Photos: Photos you take are uploaded to Apple's CloudKit servers and are visible to other users of the app.
Apple ID: If you sign in with Apple, we receive your name (or alias) to display on your sightings and responses. We do not receive your email.
Hero Name & Phone: You may optionally set a display name and phone number. Phone numbers are only visible if you explicitly enable this.

How We Use Your Data

Display cat sightings on the map and list for community use
Show your display name on sightings and responses you create
Calculate distances to sightings from your current location
Send push notifications about new sightings (if you opt in)

Data Storage

All data is stored in Apple's CloudKit public database. We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. Your data stays within the Apple ecosystem.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with any third parties. Cat sighting data (photos, location, category, notes) is publicly visible to all app users by design.

Your Rights

You can delete your own sightings and responses from within the app
You can sign out and stop contributing at any time
You can hide your real name by using a hero name
Contact us to request deletion of all your data

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
